I hope whoever planted this ivy stuff is repenting of it now! Because I am paying the price for the lack of care that was put into it. It is pretty fun to explore in and dig up. And we house about a billion snails within its tendrils.
The girls are really enjoying having their first yard. We've always been big park people, but they've never really had free range to just explore and dig and "treasure hunt" as Britton calls it. She found a disgusting and slightly decomposed bouncy ball under some underbrush, a marble, and a dog toy in the shape of Lucy from Charlie Brown. Also disgusting. But a treasure nonethesless. Lucy finds treasures, too. They're usually rocks.

I cannot get over how old Lucy is looking. I just had such a swell of love for you and your family. Lots of good thoughs your way dear Bethiepoo.
Ivy is the worst when not kept up! When we moved into our house the Sycamore tree in the front yard was COVERED in ivy. It went all the way up through the canopy of the tree. And it had been there for so long that the branches of the ivy were as thick as a small tree. Jacob had to get out his rock climbing harness and ropes and climb up in there and cut it away. It took he and I 3 weekends of work to get it all off and hauled away.
Holy Ivy! I've always liked the way ivy van just grow here and there and everywhere, but that would not be fun in my own back yard. Good luck taming that beast!
I wish we had yard to send our kids out into and make them stay out there for hours and hours and hours....
...I think I'd prefer the rocks.
