spring fever

Last year around this time Miss Lucy felt like she needed a trim. She got herself some scissors and trimmed a little. Just enough for me to feel the need to give her a haircut that would have been perfect for a Ramona Quimby costume.

This year it was a little more drastic. But subtle in an odd way. I didn't really notice the hair missing until we got our hurried family to preschool. And then I noticed.

Her hair looked a little thinner than usual. So I called Lucy over and couldn't help laughing. From embarrassment, or tiredness, or disbelief. I'm not really sure. She had cut huge chunks out of the bottom layer of her hair.

Definitely beyond my Ramona hair cutting skills. So we took her over to a sweet hair stylists house. She did her best. If you look close, the ear sticking out is actually because Lucy cut the hair above her ear.

I think she looks pretty cute. Hopefully she'll remember how darn long it took to get it fixed, though! She promised to never cut it again.

She looks adorable!

Don't worry, my hairdresser friend's daughter did worst. She didn't want bangs anymore...so she cut them off...at the roots. :)

...and your patio looks great! I think that's the first picture I've seen of it.
