toilet paper pillow boxes

Last month for Relief Society, we had a special activity about Depression Era tips and tricks.  We had two of the sweetest ladies, who spent their childhood surviving the depression, tell some of their stories for the first hour, and then we talked about how we can "Use it up, Make do, or do without."

This is one of my reuse projects for the evening.  I couldn't find directions for making pillow boxes, so after a little trial and error, I felt dumb about getting it wrong the first couple times!  But they say good engineering is the simplest, least complicated route, not always the easiest to figure out, right?

I'll just call it good engineering.

Gather supplies.

Fold two opposite sides.

It will look kind of like this.

Cut each end like half an oval.

Fold each oval half down into a flap.

Voila! In minutes you'll have a cute little pile of pillow boxes.

Then you can decorate them however you like.  (Some day I'll get this to you, Lia!)

We filled them with homemade clothes soap for the activity and I found the labels here.

Awesome. Did you put the detergent in baggies, first?
