lego bandit

Last night our toilet stopped flushing.

It was just after the kids went to bed, so around 10 o'clock. I'm getting tired of wack a'mole.

I thought maybe John has broken something. I'd heard him playing with the handle a couple times while I was doing things like brushing Lucy's teeth and putting away laundry. Nope.

James tried plunging for about 45 minutes. No good.

So we made a plan. I would keep the kids out of the house all day, and when James got home we'd try a toilet snake.

But a friend told me a gruesome story about finding a Star Wars action figure only after pulling her toilet up. And the guys at Lowe's confirmed we would probably have to take the toilet up. The toilet snakes were fairly useless if a kid put a toy down the toilet.

So, they were right.

I wanted to go to bed and call a plumber. But I married a pretty handy fella. While I held the toilet, I bet him it was a green Lego.

He smiled and pulled our two. The big toddler size Legos.

And then he said, " wait. I think I see something else green. "

John's favorite Legos are green.

And then James grunted and made some faces and pulled out one more green Lego.

And then we were thirsty and had to refill our water purifier and found a Lego tire.

What should we do with that boy?

Luckily he was asleep when all this happened. He may have gotten the wrong idea otherwise. I couldn't help laughing when James started pulling out the exact color Legos I predicted.
