celebrating two years with john

John is two!  I can't believe it.  He's such a funny little guy.  He loves all things boy.  We were having a terrible grocery trip with Aunt Becca the other day, and he started yelling "Cars! Cars!"  A poor boy on aisle 10 had no idea that he was a little John magnet, but he found out.  John had little interest in the boy wearing the Cars shirt, but he had to go up to him and point out each car on the shirt.  Luckily, the car shirt boy was nice.  And John was quite happy as soon as each car was named.

For his birthday we had lots of Grandmas and Grandpas come over, and we grilled pizza and corn and opened a couple funny presents.  I think Jason Fox may have illustrated the dinosaurs on the nesting eggs from Grandma Linda.  And the Spongebob shoes rarely come off his feet.  Now if we can get him to take off the "robot" shirt long enough to wash it, then I will be able to call my day successful.

And James passed on the dirt cake tradition to a very willing boy.  We were all blown away with how quickly he put out his candles.  I don't think he wanted them in the way, so he could eat some of those worms.

I didn't know pizza was grillable?

Isn't it amazing how boys just love those things? Surprised me as a parent. I can't believe John is 2 already! Happy birthday!
