spring is in the air

There was a brief bout of sun last week! I miss it. A lot. Until then, check out all the sweet random flowers that have been popping up all over are yard! John and I had fun going around taking pictures. These tulips are little tiny and there are a few big clumps of them. Anyone know how to separate these puppies? I want to share their cuteness for next year.

Anyone know what this thing is? They are popping up all over the place and I want to know if they should stay or go.

This is a native violet. I adore them, until after they are done flowering and get really tall and weedy looking.

And here is my little flower picker, the reason we have no flowers left anymore... But she's awfully cute.

Oh! And can you see the daffodil? It's amazing how something beautiful can be found nearly anywhere.

The plant in question looks like it might be a basil plant. Definately a keeper!!!

The tulips can be dug up after the plants have died back. The tulip farmers in Skagit County cut off the spent blooms so the plant doesn't waste energy trying to make seeds. Instead all of its strength will go into making a bigger bulb.
