help please

Did you know that I like to read?

Oh, yeah. I dig it.

But I haven't read a good book in a very long time!

Do you have any suggestions?

I know a great book that might be too depressing for a pregnant or post-partum person - Precious Bane by Mary Webb. I swear it has a happy ending, but it also has a really unhappy ending for some of the other characters.

Horatio Hornblower - don't underestimate your ability to relate to a 18th-century naval biography. Seriously.

A Thousand Splendid Suns and the Life of Pi are two that I have recently read and loved. The first half of the Life of Pi is kinda dry but the second half is awesome. I actually skipped the first half and read the second and am now going back to the first half. I read it for a book club book.

You probably already read it, but Aminda's book club is reading Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne. It's a super easy, fun read, if that's what you're in the mood for. I finished it in about 3 days. We meet this Thursday at 8pm at her house.

Here is the link to it, if you want to read it on the computer, or download it to your phone:

Tom Sawyer is next.

I just finished Stones into Schools. You should definitely read it. Read Three Cups of Tea first if you haven't red that one. I received Stones into Schools for a Christmas gift. You may borrow it. Will I ever see you? Stake conference?

You're tired of your wall colors already? Which one are you itching to paint?

Have you read The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebould? I am a fan - recently saw they are making it into a film - which I am not sure about...but heartbreaking book.
