You sure don't go for the little goals! ...your goals are scary-big, but I think your house will be adorable with the shingles!
I definitely say sunflowers. What a cute little place you've got.
Probably not a large enough space for corn. Corn needs to be planted in blocks at least 4 rows wide or the ears won't be filled out properly. The sunflowers would work great there. I love cedar shakes, but I've heard that some places no longer allow them on roofs due to fire hazard issues. You may want to check before you buy a bunch. If they are allowed in Monroe I have a froe on loan from Duncan Biddle. You could use it to split your own shakes if you are in a serious "from scratch" mood.
