Macaroni in Space

Cute Picture of the Day
My sister-in-law AnnaLia made me the cutest cloth napkins for Christmas and gave them to me with the best napkin folding book ever. I'm very excited to use them for some fancy pants dinner party, but Britton is finding other fun uses for them instead. She's used them to try to hide toys, messes, Lucy. She wraps her babies up in them. So there were a couple in her room today and I thought that they looked just the right size for a bandana. Which it was. For me. Then Britton thought that looked awesome. So she got one. And Lucy wanted to join in, too. It covered her face more than not. We played some peekaboo. It was all good. I promise to use them properly someday, Lia. Folded pretty and everything!

Lucy said her first word last night. And just to make it clear, James heard it first, so I am not just making her coos into something more than they are. She said "mama!" Her first word was mama and it is so sweet! Especially because we recovered a lost movie of Britton at about the same age as Lucy is right now. She was saying "dada" already. So I guess we each get a turn to be the favorite parent.

And Macaroni in Space! Dun dada dun! We are stuck in the house. It's gloomy rainy nasty windy outside and we haven't even got a car if we wanted to go somewhere. So we used our imaginations instead. We transformed our couch into a very cool super powered rocket ship and visited all sorts of places. I wanted to go visit maybe other planets, but Britton is a people person and wanted to visit places she knew. All while eating our Mac and Cheese. It was great to go visit Grandma Linda, Aunt Becky, Daddy and Hudson all from the comfort of our cozy rocketship, and helped us feel a little less trapped in our little basement apartment (which, coincidently, is being attacked by dishes again. And I had them at bay for a very large period of time for us).

I think I'm going to change our blog title to Macaroni in Space. It seems kinda catchy to me. Plus, Britton has upgraded her spiderstick since Christmas. So the Spiderstick Chronicles are a little outdated. She got a fairy princess wand. It works nicely, but leaves me a little sad for the loss of a very funny imaginitive toy that Britton created herself.

You always have such creative titles for you posts. I used sponge rollers and hair spray.

You look so great!! I think I have a few pics of Britton from when you were here, but none contest worthy I am sure. Do you want me to send them to your gmail addy? Hope to hear from you soon. Miss you, BTW what happened to your car? And I know all about being trapped by the weather. This winter looks to be a lot like last winter. Our snow pile is already the same size it was when you got here last year.

I like Macaroni in Space for a blog title. I have enjoyed the Spiderstick Chronicles though. Yes, that is very clever of Britton.

You found a much cooler use for those bandanas than I did! Too cute! I'm glad that Britton is enjoying them. :)

I am glad you guys are doing so well. You can inform Britton I am not a farmer or cowgirl yet. Though I try to pretend I am sometimes. Also Schlitterbauhn is the most amazing waterpark in the entire world. You should come visit me an test it out. They have an uphill waterslide.

Beth you have such a vivid imagination. Your kids are lucky. I thought the idea of visiting places in your rocket ship was a clever way to help the kids use their own imaginations. Great idea! I never think of doing stuff like that. I think the public school systems washed my brain of all creativity. ;-)
