Technology came a knockin'

AT LAST. I have access to a computer. And daily! Woo hoo. So I went ahead and read all Y'alls blogs, and it just gives me joy to be able to spy into everyone's lives. Blog hopping is pretty much my back-up plan when there is anything important to do or, in our case, boxes to unpack. So, my techno friendly husband (why yes, he is a software engineer) has a lot of fun creating Frankinstein computers. Dude! Just before we got married, I got a Dell. And it was a nice little computer. Unbeknownst to me, it really needed some changes. More RAM and the such. Well, five years later we still have the case, but I think the only original componant within is the fan. So, we had a bit of trouble getting it through this fourth move in five years. But, a few new chips and drivers and a month after we've moved, I now have a computer used mostly for recipes, movie watching, and the occasional blog, and A clean living room!

Unfortunately, I have no pictures to prove the living room has been transformed from storage area to serene living space. (We aren't adding any files to aforementioned computer, it still has some work ahead... AKA wiping out old lynux system that was used approximately fifteen times and updating software, adding a new hard drive...) But I rocked the house this weekend as my dear sister-in-law Becky calls cleaning.

All of you who are still reading after all the computer chatter and care to hear the rest of the goings on and willing to wait for pictures starting from yesterday we have:

Cut James's hair (I did it, and boy did he look dorky going to church yesterday, I met a sweet girl in the mother's lounge, which side note is the coolest elite club in Lake Stevens and I think James is a little jealous because I've been meeting way more people than him, and I think the sweet girl had second thoughts after seeing James looking like a crazy man with wierd snippets taken out of his hair seemingly randomly. We came home from church and fixed it up a lot, and I think the hair is doing better, although I was sleeping when he left this morning and can't give a guarentee.

Cleared our home of almost all unwanted junk. Looking for size womens 8 and mens 10 rollerblades, start perusing DI stores soon!

Fed the missionaries and My sweet sister who just turned 17 and is proud to still be a VL ( all you uneducated in VL lore, it means Virgin Lips, and she says she is going to make it past my 17.5 in a sort of hopeless manner. Ah, the self esteem issues of teens. So glad to be a real life grown up of almost 24 har har)

Went to a Harry Potter party! And had a short-lived revival of all love of Harry Potter! It was really fun dressing up as Dolores Umbridge. I felt very evil and in need of a cat. James was Oliver Wood because he looks like him, and the girls were little Animagus.

Halloween is pretty much the funnest Holiday ever! I still reserve a special spot in my heart for Thanksgiving and all the fabulous food and my birthday, of course. But dressing up and candy galore is pretty much totally awesome. Britton dressed up as a poodle this year and Lucy had an outfit inspired by Elton John. Not flashy rhinestones and giant glasses. She was our "tiny dancer" and "Blue Jean Baby" in a little ballerina dress in her jean jacket. Mostly she just looked dang cute. Britton just loved saying "Trick or Treat! Smell my feet!" GiGi taught her that one.

So good to hear from you and all you have been up to. Funny moment of my day: I was reading part of your blog out to my hubby - the computer part cause he is pretty much a geek - and he came over and looked at your blog and went like this: "How come I don't know these people? I like them, but I don't know them? Who are they?" He was seriously totally intrigued. Apparently, next time we are all in the same state we should be getting together and making introductions.
