first day of summer

It's the first day of summer and the first day of summer vacation for us. And it's one of those lazy overcast days that looks like rain, but hasn't made it around to raining yet. So we decides to celebrate summer even if sometimes our side of the state forgets how to act its season. And we went to an ice cream factory with some friends.

We didn't get a picture of the delectable confections, but between the two families we tested ten flavors. I can't decide I'd I liked the honey lavendar, creamsicle, or spumoni best.

They use lots of milk.

And lots of chicken eggs.

They feed the chickens old produce which makes the pen area smell extra special.

And there are tons of fun garden paths to explore with blueberries, raspberries, strawberry towers (ingenious!), and lavendar scenting the whole farm. It is definitely on every corner. And they harvest the produce and make the ice cream in a workshop with a giant window for snoopy visitors like us to watch.

Perfect start to the summer!
