John Wesley Tunnell

Beth delivered our baby boy June 29 at 6:53 PM. He weighed 8 lb.s 12.5 oz and was 20" long. We named him John Wesley. It's a big family name. Coincidentally, one of the nurses' father is named John Wesley.

We were only at the hospital three hours until he was born. Of course she labored at home all day until she couldn't stand the contractions, but once she got the epidural she was much more comfortable. Beth's mom was with the kids and my mom was with us.

Once thing different about this delivery: the cord was pretty long, so it wasn't wrapped around his neck and I got to cut the cord. I also got to participate in the circumcision. That wasn't fun, but at least it's done...

In the aftermath, we've all been adjusting to having another baby around. The girls are getting to know a lot about babies, mostly what not to do, but also how to appreciate them.

I've also done some adjusting. Namely, grab sleep whenever you get the chance.

I love the grabbing sleep picture. It is so true that you have to get it where you can. Welcome to the world of 2+ children!! It's boldly going where not too many people go anymore. Just remember, it gets better!
