We've made it 5 years!

These pictures are from our first anniversary. I think we took a ton because we were so giddy we'd made it successfully through the first year.

This year, instead of taking lots of pictures (we aren't looking quite so shapely right now...) James got a promotion! Woo Hoo!


And Little John, as we like to call him, has been out and about with us for more than two weeks now. We are adjusting pretty well, I think. I do wonder if babies ever wish to be back in the womb, though.

Our first day on our own I was so nervous. James told me the night before that he could take a couple months off, we just wouldn't have any income. So I sucked it up. And it was great! John slept while I got the girls up, fed and dressed. We even went to the park with Grandma and Luna and Lance. And later that day we laid a big blanket down and we had a little picnic. As I was fishing a raisin out of John's mouth (Lucy thought he looked hungry), Britton told me he should grow a beard like Uncle Chase. I hope that never comes to pass.

This pretty much sums up Lucy and John's relationship. She does occasionally try to be soft... but I think he might develop a nervous twitch whenever he hears her voice.

If he develops a nervous twitch from Britton, it will be from the sheer amount of love she radiates.

And I just love this picture. It was the first time my dad met John (Side note: his shirt says DADD Dad's against daughters dating. I love it! And I want one for James). John is a pretty smiley little fella, and he pulled out this grin at just the right time.
