Don't they look like they're dancing? We were so happy hanging out with our friends!

Who doesn't love carosels?

Batman and Tinkerbell (We heard "I'm batman" and "Where's my Batman" a lot.)

The fabulous Muskababes (Doesn't Lindsey look sweet pregnant?)
I have these friends who I have known since sixth and seventh grade. We called ourselves the Muskababes and we have gone through a lot, and planned a whole lot more that hasn't all happened yet. Cynthia moved away during the summer of our Freshman year in high school. We fasted together that her dad would get the job that took her to Idaho and we cursed ourselves for doing it after he got the job. Lindsey and I parted ways at for college, but the three of us have stuck together no matter how many miles have been between. We had great plans. Go on missions, travel the world, see who could kiss the most boys (Cynthia won hands down), get married in the temple, and have kids together.
This weekend we all met in the temple together, to witness the sealing of Lindsey and Cameron. It was a wonderful sweet experience, and I am so happy that Lindsey has found herself such a great man. It was sweet to feel the spirit and see the love and really happy camaraderie that they share. Beautiful.
So the craziness mainly comes in the form of the children, fondue, and lack of sleep. Cynthia called me the night before she left at about midnight (my time) and mentions that she is making fried chicken for the ride, only about 8 hours before leaving. A few hours less than that for sleeping, of course. The rest of the trip had similar sleeping patterns. But the things we did, and the fun that we had!
Cynthia's family wanted to see the sights of Seattle and ride at least one ferry (they've been landlocked for quite a while). So Friday we spent some time in Seattle, mostly driving the wrong way through parking lots to find the cheapest parking. But, Jonathon and Britton loved the rides at the Seattle Center, and it was so much fun being around their enthusiasm and remembering the good times with my Muskababes (we were that cool in middle school!)
The next day Lindsey and Cameron were sealed. A precious day, which just happened to be Valentine's Day. A day that the very cool Muskababes had previously had a tradition of wearing all black and heavy dark makeup in boycott. Happily, we have found precious loved ones and don't feel so strongly about the hallmark holiday. We even thought about going to the Melting Pot for dinner (it was closed the day before when we tried to get in for lunch), but then we looked at the prices. And our romantic idea for Valentines day was IHOP with all the kids. Yummm. Bacon!
The Fondue did happen, though. Cynthia's husband Nick is a fabulous cook and whipped up two different cheese sauces and a plethora of good stuff to dip, plus an appetizer of the best asparagus I have ever had! It involved black forest ham and parmesan, and I could probably have ate a couple pounds of the fabulousness. I'm going to try to recreate it and there will be a future post of the recipe. Seriously, life altering asparagus. But the best part of the fondue party... the Muskababes sat and chatted while the dishes were completely taken care of.
We stayed up much too late chatting off the calories of our delightful dinner.... And this morning they were gone.
Britton woke up and asked what happened to her friends. She loved all of our visitors. What a super awesome crazy fabulous weekend!

Just wanted to drop by and show some love to your blog and to say, I miss you all already!! So does Jonathon who thinks that Beth's house is the greatest place on earth. I miss talking all night and hanging with the babes. By the way, Nick didn't catch that we called ourselves that and read it on your blog and made a face at me. Then The Three Muskateers was on TV and he laughed and teased over it.
