We did it! We ran our marathon relay two weeks ago. Leavenworth is such a fun little town. We ate the most delicious gingerbread in the whole world, played really awesome instruments at the world store, tried on hundreds of hats, and spent a lot of time at the toy shop. James even shared his love of light sabers, and Britton found a plush Swiper that started swiping stuff from us.

The race was absolutely beautiful. Lots of colorful leaves, mountain views, occasional showers to cool the runners, even a few friends from Ellensburg! Randy and Tasha ran the half. Tasha is so amazing! She had a baby just a couple days after I did. Toby ran the full marathon and Juliette is pregnant again! Congratulations! It was awesome to see you guys. Our Relay team was the best ever! We started out as all Tunnell family, but Lia got pregnant and Sarah got scared, so we ended up getting the privilege of introducing Chelsea Tonks to our team. She is a super runner! And really fun to run with. James took two for the team. He was planning on running two lengths of the relay, but Rachel sprained her ankle pretty severely after high fiving a race official and jumping over a mudpuddle in succession. Her dad said he taught her better than to high five strangers. So James ran half of Rachel's section for her, and our team still finished! Poor Rachel can't run for at least four weeks, and the rest of us haven't run anyway. It is really just to show our support...
We stayed the night in Wenatchee before the race (everything in Leavenworth was booked) And can I just say, always always print out your itinerary! Lucy doesn't like riding in the car, so she was letting us know it while we drove to Wenatchee, then we got lost, then we went to the wrong hotel. Luckily they had a convenience computer and were nice enough to let us check our email confirmations so we could find out where the heck we paid for a room. Goodness! We were glad to be in our room by the time we got there! Next year, we've decided to go without the girls. Although hanging out in Leavenworth with them was super fun. The race would be a lot less of a headache if we didn't have to worry about passing them around.
