We went to Spokane and stayed at a hotel. There was an outdoor pool and an indoor pool. 50 degree weather didn't keep us inside, though. Luckily, the pool was slightly heated. Spokane has some cool parks including a giant wagon accessorized with giant blocks that spell out 'City Spokane'. There was also a Chinese lantern festival. It was amazing! There was a guy who could balance on a rolling cylinder and a board, and do a handstand, and also catapult a stack of bowls on top of his head. We loved seeing lots of geese and ducks and feeding them fishy crackers. John says the birds liked them so much because they are fishies. We got to eat out at restaurants and eat breakfast in bed while watching tv like Tom and Jerry and Full House. We all loved getting out and doing things together (team building!) and the kids especially loved staying at the hotel. John and Nora were inconsolable when we left and told them we couldn't go back. Uncle Chase's family even met up with us at the festival. I think we may have to plan a few more little trips like these.

It sounds like a lovely time was had by all. One of my favorite things about kids is that they help you enjoy a lot of life's little things. It is nice to see life through the lens of a child's wonder once in a while. The kids did a great job on the photos too.
wonderful! thanks so much for letting us see alittle of your trip!
That's such a good idea! Sometimes you really have to be away from home to bond...all the other distractions are gone. The lantern fest lookED AWESOME, and so does you and James' hair! Both amazing
