It was a tough decision to make. But this year we are homeschooling, with a side of swim lessons and art classes that are truly amazing.

It may not last forever, but we are trying it out for this year.

Anyone know how to become a perfect mom over night? Each night I pray for it to happen, and no matter how good my intentions, by the end of the day I have decided my kids are going to hate me for ruining their lives some day.

But we are really doing pretty well. And they only tell me they hate me once in awhile.

If they don't say they hate you once in a while, you are probably doing something wrong.

Last year, when I pulled Sofia out of school in the midst of her physical and psychological trauma, she hated me a lot...and often. Now, in retrospect, she's very grateful.

...and I think all of these trying moments are what help us BECOME great moms...but I don't know about perfect...
